The strongest Prashna questions are specific and alive now
Prashna is not intended to answer every question a person could imagine in one chart. It is designed around the matter that is genuinely pressing at the moment of inquiry. The question should be clear enough that both the situation and the decision can be understood.
A useful test: if the answer could change what you prepare for, decide or pay attention to now, the question may be suitable for Prashna.
Relationship questions
- What should I understand before deciding whether to stay or leave?
- Is this relationship likely to move toward commitment?
- Why does this situation feel blocked or uncertain?
- Which pattern is repeating, and what deserves my attention?
Prashna should not be used to invade another person’s privacy or claim control over their choices. The most useful focus is the relationship situation, its dynamics, likely movement and your own decision.
Career, job and business questions
- Should I accept this specific offer?
- Is this the right time to leave my current role?
- Which of these two concrete opportunities appears better supported?
- What is creating the delay around this application or project?
Prashna adds an interpretive perspective. It does not replace due diligence, contract review, financial planning or professional advice.
Timing questions
People often want to know not only whether something may happen, but when movement might become more likely. A chart may offer timing indications or show that the matter is still developing. Exact dates are not always available or responsible; sometimes the useful answer is a sequence, condition or window.
Lost-object questions
Lost items are a traditional application of Prashna. The astrologer may examine factors related to the object, its condition, direction, environment and likelihood of recovery. Results cannot be guaranteed, but these readings can sometimes organize a search in a surprisingly practical way.
One Jyotish Karma client came with a missing-wallet question after she and her husband had searched without success. The experience changed what they believed astrology could help investigate. This is one example, not a promise that every lost object will be recovered.
Home, relocation and major-decision questions
- Should I move now or wait?
- Is this particular property or location a good fit for the decision I am making?
- What should I understand before committing to this plan?
- Does the situation show movement, delay or a need to reconsider?
Can Prashna give a yes-or-no answer?
Sometimes a chart supports a clear direction. At other times the answer is conditional: yes, if a specific obstacle is addressed; not yet; or the situation is too unstable to treat as settled. A nuanced answer is not evasive when the chart itself describes a mixed or developing matter.
Questions that are usually too broad
- Tell me everything about my future.
- Will my whole life be successful?
- What will happen in every area this year?
- Give me a complete personality reading without a specific concern.
Broad life-pattern questions are often better suited to natal Jyotish when reliable birth details are available. You do not need to decide this alone; Anuja can recommend the method after reviewing the concern.
How to phrase your Prashna question
Write the question in one sentence. Name the real decision or uncertainty. Add only the context necessary to understand what is at stake. Avoid asking the same question repeatedly in different forms, because the sincerity and clarity of the original inquiry matter.
Instead of:
“What does my future look like?”
Try:
“Should I accept the job offer I received this week, or remain in my current role?”
No exact birth time is required
Prashna is based on the question and the moment it is received. It is not dependent on reconstructing a birth chart from uncertain information. For a fuller explanation, read Prashna astrology without a birth time.
